METTLACH LIDDED STEIN #2278 SPORTS   Rare Mettlach lidded stein with the motif of sports scenes of 7 different male figures in poses of sports exercises. This is a bas-relief stein with an inlay stoneware disk set into pewter rim that reads "Gut Heil". Measures 7-1/2"H x 4-1/4" round at the bottom. The thumblift is unusual in that it is a lions head with a shield in its mouth. All appropriate logos are on the bottom, Old Tower with Mettach name and all the official numbers and Mercury mark. Mint condition with the exception of a minuscule chip along an edge,
barely noticeable, if I didn't tell you, you would never see it. The hinge is 5 rings and it is .5L.
