This page is dedicated to my Uncle Gerrit Van Loveren
Uncle or Ome Gerrit as we called him was a City Park Architect and was very knowledgeable about plants and Plant Life. Many times other Cities in Holland would asked him for his advise which he gladly gave. His advise would range from fertilizers to plants and trees. It was always a pleasure to have him show us the different leaves collections he had on file. The house had a little office upstairs in a spare bedroom were he had his collections. At Christmas time he would give each family a Christmas table piece made out of the tree - trunks of the parks he had worked at during the year. He would construct these table pieces mostly out of birch branches. They were some of most beautiful table pieces I ever seen. That is what I remembered from my Uncle Gerrit Van Loveren.
